About Bsc. In Actuarial Science In UDSM The  department of mathematics runs one undergraduate degree programme (Bsc. In Actuarial Science), in collaboration with department of Finance under University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) and Department of Statistics under the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS). More on Actuarial Science IN UDSM, click here In Tanzania, University Of Dar es Salaam have not yet been accredited exemptions from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA)  . In doing so, for an actuarial science student from UDSM to  become an actuary, at fellowship level, h/she has to do a series of Actuarial Profession Exams. CAREER DAY 2017

In April 29 2017,we had our fifth career day, it was an excellent opportunity for students, graduates, stakeholders, companies to come together with an ambition to develop, explore new  skills, technical expertise to take the actuarial profession to greater heights. Our Patron, University of Dar es Salaam Mathematics Department did  a grand Opening of the event by explaining on UDSM Actuarial Programme. The head of Department, Prof E Mureithi had the honor.

How can I prepare in high school? If you want to be an actuary, start preparing now! Guidance for High School Students Follow a college preparatory curriculum of high school classes. Take math classes every year. Take advantage of Advanced Placement (AP) and advanced courses such as statistics and calculus. Enroll in computer science courses to develop your  computer skills . What Else Should I Do?     Participate in extracurricular activities that will give you a chance to work as part of a team on a     project or stand out as a leader. Attend career fairs for the actuarial profession. Explore colleges and universities that offer actuarial science curriculum.
