ASSAUD GENERAL ELECTION: WINNERS AND THEIR POSITIONS

On 24th May 2019, ASSAUD conducted its general election for the 2019-2020 term. Students who felt capable for various positions applied and campaign on how they could be suitable for their upcoming posts. The candidates contested for seven positions covering different departments of ASSAUD. The election was conducted in a democratic manner with each member of the association casting a vote on one of the candidates. ASSAUD New EXCOM 2019/2020. One of the most interesting things that happened on the ASSAUD General election is this ballot paper from one of the members who is undoubtedly a die hard fan of Chrissmann who contested with Salvatore in the Presidential position. The paper read 'Chrissman asiposhinda najiua' that implies a fan will commit suicide if Chrissman lose. Actuarial Bonanza : As it happened,

Today ASSAUD celebrate Union day through Actuarial bonanza. It hosted a football match between second year students and a combination of first and third years students. Othuman Chuji holding 4 fingers to troll 2nd years Before the game there were throw of words with each side claiming it's going to win. The end result witnessed a big shock to second years students after being stunned with 4-0 with boys from first and third year showing a solid and entertaining game. First goal came in just in the opening mins with one two passes between Chuji (Othman) and the unknown guy who put the ball into the net. A blunder made by second year goals keeper cost the team. Meja Sabi who was man of the match with 100% pass completion score two goals and played a great role in linking up the team during attacks. ACTUARIAL CAREER DAY 2019 CONCEPT NOTE.

INTRODUCTION    Actuarial day is an annual event which act as a platform for dialogue between Actuarial Science Students, Actuarial alumni, Insurance companies, Social Security schemes, financial services providers and other Risk management stakeholders. The companies and organizations attending will present on how actuarial services contribute to effective management and what job opportunities a holder of an Actuarial Science degree can expect to find with those companies.  Actuarial students will also have a chance to present to the risk management stakeholders on different products that will be prepared for the event day. The aim is to find a way to exploit the possible mutual benefits, in terms of career and employment, between Actuarial Science students and the Risk Management stakeholders. They shared with us experience about the working sphere and more other details concerning our career and its market in Tanzania. An Actuary Mr Omondi paid us a visit.

2nd of November was another blessed day for all ASSAUD members and Actuarial industry in Tanzania as we got in touch with Actuary Elias Omondi from Kenya who has recently been appointed to supervise risk based capital around Central and Eastern Africa. It was a very successful talk with lots of motivation for the upcoming Actuaries. IFAO NEW CURRICULUM 2019.

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) wants to ensure that, through the qualification for Associateship and Fellowship, members are in a position to take advantage of these opportunities. To support this, the IFoA is introducing a new curriculum, which has been developed along with the changes to the syllabus made by the International Actuarial Association (IAA).
